DID IT MY WAY has passed on 7-29-2010

This is being written by the SIL (son #2) as I am hoping the followers of this blog will be notified of Tony's passing. Our family is still in shock and having a difficult time with this as you all can imagine. We are all very close and Dad was just as much of a best friend as well as a Dad to us all. His humor and views on his blog were just a sample of how great of a man he was in real life but no different from his postings on his blog at all. The blog gave everyone a taste of his personality, views and knowledge but he definitely livened up any conversation and put smiles on many faces. He was the most unselfish, caring, loving, generous, friendly, intelligent, compassionate, straight-forward, honest, and caring man many of us have ever known. Although it hurts not to have Tony (Dad) with us, and our family outings, range time etc. will never be the same, I can only say we are very thankful for having such a man in our lives. Please, feel free to leave your kind words on his memorial site if you wish and understand that the entire family thanks all of you for touching him as much as he has touched you.

Sincerely,
Tony's Family

He is truly free now.
I was wondering where he was, I was blessed that he found my little rant site and left regular comments.
My condolences. Yes, I am shedding tears for someone I never met, I didn't need to, his words were enough.

I thought something was'nt quite right. Tony has'nt been on here for well over a month now, and he did'nt say he was going anywhere. I know he would have let us know if he knew. I kinda knew Tony also, although we've never met. Thanks for the info, and very sorry for your loss also. Tony will always be in my thoughts.

I just got here from Hermit Jim's blog, a sad occasion to come to. I have read Tony's first page and already wish I had "known" him earlier.

Condolences to you and yours, remember the times you had and he'll always be there too.

I did not know Tony had passed until I read HB's blog this morning.

May God give you all comfort. I will miss Tony and reading about his travels, range time, cars and looking for that perfect piece of property. Most of his post would always put a smile on one's face.

I just found out about Tony, I feel your loss.

I never met him, and I am a poorer person for that, But having met him through the net, I am much richer for his insights and attitude.

I hope you take his memory and run with it, not wallow in grief. He wouldn't want that at all.

Good luck, the world is a much emptier place with his passing.

I tried to post to the memorial guestbook, but must have been doing something wrong.

I never met Tony but he commented often on my blog, and was very encouraging as I wound my way through a bunch of debt.

His family has my sincere sympathy.

God, I know he is at peace and with his wife in your loving embrace.

I am so shocked to read this I can say no more. I'll miss that former Michigander.

I never heard of this blog before now but I just read about Tony's passing at Busted Knuckles' place. It comes at an oddly appropriate time because I just found out one of my acquaintances passed on September 18th (the day Jimi Hendrix died). He went out his own way, too. He just went off into the woods and died there like his ancestors. We're having a memorial for him on Thursday.
