Out with the old in with the new

Last day of 2008.

Please don't drink and drive. Call a cab, use a designated driver, save your life, and your friends.

I wish good health, love of family, peace, and a fresh start for all in 2009.

God Bless

Changes to make for 2009:

1. Get rid of all left over 2008 debt. (Currently $2,900.00 on two credit cards)

2. Start selling all un-needed "stuff" (Put up at least one auction a day on E-bay) If not sold after auction ends-try Craight's list-if not sold there-donate it-in other words get rid of it!

3. Spend "Cash" only-except for gas purchases (hate to go inside to pay, plus credit card gives 5% back on all purchases.)

4. Try for as many "no spend" days as possible.

5. Continue saving all $1.00 bills, and when they reach $100.00 send to Ing savings account.

6. Account for every cent spent.(Going to be tough, but I will try)

I will up-date at the end of every week to track my progress.

Come on 2009-The start to My Road to Freed-Getter Done

Three days left this year. Time flies when having to much fun, as a fellow blogger in texas always says.

But when you are stuck at work for the next 10 hours perhaps it goes just a little slower. Two hot jobs require my attention this morning, and I am burning day light. Sooo off to the sweat shop I go.

Have a happy Monday.

Sunday morning coming down.

"And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad so I had one more for dessert"

You gotta love Johnny Cash & Kris Kristofferson

There is something in a Sunday that makes a body feel alone. Thats me today. The end of 2008 is rapidly approaching, and as of yet I have no hard plans for 2009. I do know or perhaps wish for a change in life style. Current events beyound my control do dictate a move.

I own a small tool shop and my current landloard has hit hard times and is now in bankruptcy. So soon I would assume there will be a new owner for the building. Perhaps the new owner will let me continue renting or perhaps not. No fear of the unknown.

Time to head to the big water and think things over-or just watch the waves come and go.

Bait: Live shrimp & frozen squid $16.00

Labor: 5 hours @ $15.00 per hr $75.00

FRESH FISH IN THE FREEZER: priceless!!!!!

I am thankful for life's little pleasures.

Now to wash and wax the truck.(Work-ugh)

What a lazy bum. Slept in until 7:30am. For someone used to getting up at 5:00am seems like I lost a half a day already.

But that's ok because today I am only doing what I wish to do. Fishing. The cooler is packed with food and drink for the day, rods, reels, tackle box, stored in the truck and I am off to catch dinner. No luck needed-I am a pro at this. I'll be back.

How about you-ever take a day just for you? Try it you may like it.

Work Work Work What a way to start the day. Would you rather beinging doing something else?(Stupid question).

Since I am a child of the 50's work has always been fun for me. I enjoy getting up early and going to work. Getting rich was never one of my true desires. The pleasure of creating something from scratch that will out live you gives me great pleasure.

I have always told my children find work you truely love and learn to "Live" with the income it provides. I was lucky. I found mine at a very early age and have still enjoy it today 46 years later.

So now it is time for a change. Following that thought-What change? Well I have hunted, and fished, and camped all my life.

GOAL #1.
So now I believe I wish to catch a fish in every State of this great land of ours.

But wait you say:

What about your house? Sell it (started-auction will be 1/13/2009)

All your "Stuff"? Sell it (started)

Where to live? 2004 Roadtrek Pop 190 (Bought new-thinking ahead? Nope always like camping every weekend) Will now be my new home on wheels

Money? Live with-in-my means-SSI and proceeds from the house. It also helps to be totally debt free including no mortage payment so all sale proceeds are mine.

Progress being made on all fronts: LIFE IS GOOD.

Spent today simply looking at how much "stuff" there is to get rid of. YIKES-Will I live that long.
Where did all this come from? To many years to remember, and of course to much space to put it in.

They say the longest trip starts with the first step. I'm starting to run right now. Spent three hours just on my desk. Yep desk is clean-and ready to sell. Step one compleated.

Start today

December 18, 2008

How do I become free?

1. Sell the house
2. Pay off all debts
3. Get rid of all "Stuff"
4. Find funds to live a simple life style

I always said "I took to long, I did it wrong, but I did it my way"
This is my story-tag along to see if I can find my road to freedom
